Named for one of the hunting lodges on the Balmoral Estate, home of the British royal family. Queen Victoria was hugely vivacious when she was younger and would wind up her bookish husband, Prince Albert, at every opportunity! He contributed a huge amount to Britain and was largely responsible for the World Fair at Crystal Palace. The young couple fell in love with Scotland and they would visit the Balmoral Castle and its environs often throughout their lives. When the king passed away, it was said that the heartbroken queen would retreat to one of these cottages with only her most loyal companion and bodyguard, John Brown. We hope that you are reminded of her love, life and passion of the outdoors when you enjoy a day out with our blankets.
The Muick Cottage picnic blanket has a water proof liner on the underside. It easily folds into a light and portable shape with handles that is easy to carry and store.
